Kansas sheriff in court, accused of distributing meth

The Rooks County Sheriff made his first appearance in court Monday.  Randy Axelson is charged with several counts of felony drug distribution.

He's accused of nine counts of felony methamphetamine distribution.  He was arrested after an investigation by several law enforcement agencies.

The hearing happened in Ellis County Court because that county's attorney is acting as special prosecutor in the case.

Axelson is out on a $45,000 dollar bond is required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
