A burglary and two blocks away a dead body.  Police believe the two are connected. Homeowners found a 38-year-old man dead in their driveway Friday morning near 21st and Park Place. Police believe he bled to death.

"This is where he laid, you can tell he bled and bled right there," said Sherri Dills. She woke up Friday morning to the commotion of a dead body in her neighbor's driveway. "Absolutely freaked me out."

The man was covered in blood, lying next to the homeowner's truck. "I don't know if he was coming here for help or what he was doing," she said.
Hours before police ended up at the house on Park Place, they responded to a burglary nearby at 21st and Fairview.

Based on the broken glass and blood stains at the burglarized home, police knew someone was hurt. Then they found a trail of blood going two and a half blocks away where the man was found. That's when police made the connection. "The police said to me that the window sill fell on his arm and it was a main artery it hit. It was the only mark on the man's body," Dills said. She still can't believe he wandered all that way, bleeding the entire time and no one saw him to help.

Wichita police are still investigating the case. They believe someone else was involved with the burglary. If you have any information or saw anything Wichita police want to hear from you.
