Wichita police arrest 53-year-old Kimberly King for the stabbing death of a neighbor. The stabbing happened at Shadybrook Senior Apartments near 21st and Oliver Thursday night.
Police say a 22-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times in her apartment. She was transported to Wesley Medical Center where she died.
Police say that King and the victim had a disagreement.
"There have been threats made over the last few weeks from the suspect to the victim," Lt. Todd Ojile said.
Police say the disagreement escalated Thursday night and accuse King of stabbing the young woman in her apartment.
A panic alarm pulled by the woman in her apartment alerted the staff. Police found King at the complex later that night.
Residents said they were shocked when they heard about Thursday night's events. Until this time they thought the complex was safe, almost like a family they said.
