The Sedgwick County Sheriff's department is looking for a yellow, box-like truck that may be connected to a string of recent burglaries.
Investigators said the vehicle, which is similar to a moving truck, may have been parked outside of homes and businesses that have been crime targets. The burglaries occurred across the county, from extreme northern and southern Sedgwick county, and stretching out to near Clearwater.
Theives are looking for electronics and personal items that can be used for forgery or identity theft. In another case, the suspects stole expensive tools from sheds, a loss valued at $3,000.
On Tuesday, burglars took a pit bull from a home near Lake Afton. The suspects also stole nearly $20,000 worth of jewelry and electronics.
Despite the recent reports, investigators do not believe they are seeing a spike in crimes.
The Sheriff's Office said they will come and inspect homes free of charge. Anyone interested in talking with a deputy about home security should call 316-660-3720.
