It's a big claim:  install a new light switch without any wires or an electrician.

We bought the Handy Switch, a $15 device that claims to let you stick up a new light switch on the wall to control any lamp in your room.

Our tester, Marsha, wants more lights in her older home.  And after the test,  she loves the Handy Switch.   Here's why:

1.  Simple to use.   Just plug part of the device into the wall outlet and then your lamp into that.    The remote light switch turns the connector on and off--and therefore, your lamp, too.

2.  Quick!  We got it working in less than one minute.

3.  Inexpensive.  A new light switch for $15---and you install in yourself.  No electrician needed.

One warning:  the device sticks to the wall with double-sided tape, so be careful what you stick it to (in case you ever want to remove it in the future).

We checked and found both Walgreens and Linens and Things carry it.
