Getting a good night's sleep may not get rid of those dark circles under your eyes. For many people, they were just born with them. This week, we test a a cream that claims to erase those circles in just 30 days.
We enlisted the help of three women who'd never met before. But, they all suffer from the same problem - dark circles under their eyes.
All three volunteered to try the twice-a-week cream called Hylexin. It costs $100 a tube, but the women said they'd be willing to buy it if it works.
One of our testers said she felt it warm her skin within a few minutes.
The makers of Hylexin said our testers would see dramatic results in just 30 days. We have our testers use it for an additional two weeks to give the product every chance of succeeding.
But, in each of our cases...before and after - not one of our testers was impressed.
"I couldn't tell a difference at all. If I'd bought it I'd be disappointed and send it back," said one of our testers.
Another added, "When I look in the mirror, I see the same coloration under my eyes as when I started using the product."
The third agreed, saying "Didn't do it, doesn't do a thing. It does not work."
We contact the makers of Hylexin. They told us it's hard to believe the product didn't work. The company claims a 76% success rate. The company says we should have put the cream on only one of each of our tester's eyes, so they could see the difference in the end.
We had our testers use the product like the directions stated, and as anyone would if they bought it, on both eyes.
