(WICHITA, Kan.)—
A picture of vegetables on a tray may do more to get a child to eat their veggies than a parent's nagging.
Researchers at the University of Minnesota tracked vegetable consumption at an elementary school and found more kids took veggies on days their lunch trays had vegetable pictures on them.
Researchers theorize it set an expectation that you're supposed to get vegetables, and the kids thought their classmates would be getting them too.
