It took almost seven hours for Sedgwick County to finalize election results Tuesday night.  Several problems plagued the election office.

It took almost four hours for the first results to post to the Sedgwick County website.  That's the longest anyone in the KWCH newsroom can remember it taking.  Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman says most of the problems were because of an error in the way they used the equipment.

It's the same error they experienced during the August primary.  When the county posted results, it showed 100% of precincts reporting when that wasn't true.  Eyewitness News talked with Lehman before the election and she assured us that this issue would not happen again, but it did.

Around 1:15 Wednesday morning, Lehman confirmed 90% of the ballots were counted.  However the last 10% faced additional problems.

In Cheney, an issue with electronic results prompted them to hand count the ballots.  In Valley Center, a church didn't shutdown the computers properly so the count was taking longer.  The final results posted at 1:39 Wednesday morning.

Eyewitness News is looking into the issue and will have more coverage Wednesday on air and at kwch.com.
