On May 1, the Sedgwick County Treasurer’s Office will begin the DMV Modernization Project, transitioning to a new system used to manage driver licenses, motor vehicle titling and registration, and inventory.  The new system will link existing systems and databases, and will be easier to use, maintain and enhance.

The system upgrade will affect all tag offices statewide, and Sedgwick County tag offices will close to the public May 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8.  To accommodate vehicle owners requiring services, the tag offices will offer extended business hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 25, 26, 27 and 30, as well as May 9, 10 and 11.

Residents whose last names begin with C or D will renew in April and may access the extended business hours.

Residents whose last names begin with E, F or G will renew in May and should note the dates the offices will be closed, as well as the dates of extended hours.  May renewals will be mailed after April 15.

Internet tag renewals will not be available after April 26.  Renewals on Kansas Web-Tags will resume after May 7.
