Thanksgiving dinner is going to cost you more this year. To feed 10 guests it's going to cost you $49.48. That's 28 cents more than last year.

The biggest cost is the turkey. Your Thanksgiving bird will cost more than $22 for a 16 pound turkey. A 14 ounces of stuffing will cost $2.77 and 30 oz. of pumpkin pie filling will run you $3.15.

Some helpful tips to cut you spending.

Make a list and stick to it. Know what you need and want.

Look for store promotions and coupons. Some stores may offer a discounted turkey if you spend a certain amount.

Consider a frozen bird over a fresh one. You can save about a $1 a pound.

Know price matching policies. Find out if nearby store offer price matching on its competitor's advertized prices.  Do the bulk of your shopping there, and don't forget your coupons.
