You have to pay a lot of attention to a lot of things, weather included, when you're riding horses clear across the country.

That's what Richard and Jeanette McGrath are doing right now.

Their cross country ride is taking them through Kansas this week.

They're raising money for "Hearts Up Ranch" a Wyoming non-profit organization that uses outdoor activities to help people who have been emotionally traumatized.

Covering thousands of miles on horseback can be a little traumatizing in itself.

Richard says,"traffic can sometimes be a challenge. Some people aren't as respectful as others when it comes to, you know, driving by us. Some people try to push by us. We had one car in california that actually scraped one of the pack horses."

Desspite the challenges the McGraths are committed to finishing their coast to coast ride which has now lasted almost a full year.
