The Cathedral of the Plains is the one Wonder of Kansas candidate I've visited before. I used to live in Hays and made trips to the church every time someone came to visit me.
The Cathedral is a gorgeous place you could spend hours exploring. I still wonder how the people were able to build something so large so long ago.
It took George and I about two and a half hours to get to Victoria. It's a 172 mile trip. It's easy to find because it's right off of I-70 and you can see it miles away. It's open during the week for visitors and it's free.
The Cathedral has an annual Christmas concert I always wanted to check out. I never did. I'm told it's incredible and that maybe reason enough to make another trip in December.
Once we wrapped up in Victoria, we drove ten miles west to Hays for lunch. Then we headed to Lucas for a fascinating visit to the Garden of Eden.
