I've never been to a Presidential Library and had no idea what to expect. The Eisenhower Library in Abilene reminds me of a college campus. There are five buildings on 23 acres of land.  It includes Eisenhower's boyhood home.

Our trip to Abilene took an hour and 20 minutes. It's 87 miles from Wichita. We took I-135 to Newton, then K-15 which turns into K-56 for a few miles and then back to K-15. It's a quick drive mostly on two lane highways.

The library is open for research and there are educational programs for Kansas students.  There's also a museum with 68,000 artifacts. Admission to the museum is $7.

Also on this trip, we visited another Wonder contestant the Brookville Hotel and ate fried chicken. Look for that story, December 15th.
