The Underground Salt Museum is a place unlike any other I've ever visited.  When you arrive, you watch a safety movie, put on a hard hat and emergency breathing apparatus.  They say the breathing apparatuses have never been needed but you have to wear them just in case.

After you're finish the safety lesson you get on the elevator.  This is probably one of my favorite parts.  You travel down 650 feet and it takes a little over a minute.  It gets dark and loud, but it's over fairly fast.

Once inside the mine, its large and open.  You don't have to worry here about being claustrophobic down here.  The mine is also a constant 68 degrees.

If you want to take a tour, they recommend you make a reservation especially on weekends.  It's $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for children ages 4-12.  It's open everyday but Monday.
