(Augusta, Kan.)—
A single-engine plane made an emergency landing at the Augusta Regional Airport Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m.
Airport officials say after takeoff, the pilot radioed back to say the plane, identified as a Grumman Tiger, was experiencing engine problems.
Officials say the pilot turned the plane around and returned to the airport, but the plane was coming in a "little too high and little fast." Officials say the plane slid off the runway and crashed.
The pilot and a passenger, the only two people on the plane, walked from the incident nearly unharmed.
