Wichita Police say a suspected shoplifter stabbed a security guard outside Towne East Mall Saturday night.
Authorities say the security guard followed two people outside a store after they were caught on video stealing several items. When he stopped the pair, one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard in the chest.
Police say a good samaritan and another security guard found the two suspected shoplifters and held them until officers arrived.
The security guard was taken to the hospital, and is in stable condition.
