(Wichita, KS)—
The Wichita City Council is looking for a temporary council member. District IV Council member Michael O'Donnell made his resignation official Tuesday. He won a State Senate seat in November, and will be leaving the city council on December 31st.The council could have kept O'Donnell's council seat open until the next general election in April. Instead, they decided to select a temporary member to fill the vacancy.
The District IV Advisory Board will screen the candidates and recommend at least 4 people for the seat, but not more than 5 potential candidates.
The City Council will vote on a temporary replacement from those candidates on January 8th, 2013.
