The bill could top $30 billion dollars across the east coast from flood, wind, and fire damage. Whole communities need rebuilding and that has every state looking to help.
Paul Davis Restoration is one of several national companies mobilizing teams east to help fix damage. 50 offices from the midwest are headed that way, Wichita franchise owner Jill Skaggs said.
Skaggs, extra workers, trucks and equipment will be needed to begin the clean up process.
"It's kind of like when we have our tornadoes here, we need support from all over the country," she said.
Skaggs said with a storm the size of Sandy, it may take weeks or months for crews to assess damage and for property owners to file insurance claims.
Meantime, Wichita contractors told us they expect to see an increase in the cost of some building materials in the coming months as demand increases and suppliers more shift materials east.
