Homemade cherry limeades, Miss Wheelchair Kansas and a real ranch experience are just a few reasons why Bucklin is 'One of a Kind'.  The southwest Kansas town is the first stop on our road trip.

Residents like Kelly Austin Bettles helped convince us to come visit.  She wrote on our Facebook page, Bucklin is a town full of history and full of the best people in Kansas.  Bucklin is getting ready to celebrate its 125th anniversary as a town and  100 years as a school.  She says Bucklin is one of the few towns that still closes down and gives veterans a Veterans Day recognition they deserve.  She says Bucklin is definitely One of a Kind!

Michael Schwanke, Merril Teller and Jenn Bates arrived in the town of 700 Monday morning.  They will be visiting Moore Ranch, Main Street Market and a variety of other places in town.  Miss Wheelchair Kansas Emily Evans is also one of the community members we will feature in our coverage.  Our crew will also help the school honor teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Bucklin is also the hometown of Eddie Sutton.  Sutton was born in 1936.  He coached division one basketball for 36 years, at Creighton, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and the University of San Francisco.  He is one of only eight major college men's basketball coaches to have more than 800 career wins.

Tune in to our 5, 6, 9 and 10 newscasts for coverage from Bucklin.  Also, head to our Facebook page and 'like' us if you like what we're doing.  You can also chime in about your town and help us decide where to visit next.
