Our work and school week will end on a pleasant note with plenty of  sun and a few high clouds.  Highs will reach the mid-50s to around 60 - much like we've seen all week long. Western Kansas will have gusty southerly winds this afternoon while winds elsewhere will be a bit lighter.

This weekend we're all in for gusty winds and more mild temperatures. A weak weather-maker will slide though southern sections of our region Sunday and Monday throwing more clouds in our direction but no significant rain or snow.

Our weather pattern for now, and through the Thanksgiving week ahead, has the Gulf of Mexico - our moisture source here in Kansas - closed for business, so the drought will continue.

The good news for travelers? That same weather pattern will insure dry roads and a nice warming trend through next week with highs in the mid to upper-60s.
