This afternoon's weather will be very similar to yesterday with highs in the 40s and mid-50s along with a little bit of wind in eastern Kansas.  The wind has swung around to the northwest across western Kansas.

A storm system will slowly draw nearer to Kansas today and Wednesday.  We can expect clouds to roll in right away Wednesday morning but areas of rain showers won't move in from the south until evening and last into early Thursday.

Ahead of this approaching storm, temperatures will continue to be warmer than average for most of our state. Temperatures will stay in the 40s and 50s as the storm system passes through our area so snow is NOT expected locally in Wichita.  There may be a little mix into northwest Kansas.

Rainfall amounts should end up around 0.25-0.50" but a little bit more is expected over far southern and southeast Kansas.
