The Christmas storm will move out of the area, but the cold weather will be here to stay for the remainder of the week.
Clouds will be moving out late in the night with lows in the single digits for much of the state. It could be as cold as -3 in Goodland, but closer to 10 above zero in south central Kansas. The wind will be backing down overnight, but still strong enough to drop wind chills below zero.
Much of the state will have a sun/cloud mix for Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 20s. The wind is not expected to be as strong, and should turn to the southeast over western Kansas.
There will be another chance for light snow in northwest Kansas on Thursday, but significant accumulations are not expected.
