There is a chance for light snow in southern Kansas on Tuesday, but it's not expeted to amount to very much. The heaviest snow will fall in western and northern Oklahoma, where as much as 6 inches of accumulation could fall by early Tuesday evening.

Overnight, clouds will thicken statewide with a chance for light snow in southwest Kansas after midnight. The rest of the area will be dry with lows in the teens northwest and 20s elsewhere.

Light winds are expected on Tuesday with snow for areas along and south of Highway 54/400. Afternoon temperatures will be near 40.

Snow will end Tuesday night with mostly sunny skies returning for Wednesday. Highs could be close to 50 for the middle of the week.
