Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies will be the rule overnight.  Lows in the 20s and 30s will be common in western Kansas, while lower to middle 40s are expected in the east.

As moisture and south winds increase over Kansas tomorrow, clouds will thicken up.  Highs in the 50s and 60s are forecast.  As a storm system over the southwestern states gains strength and moves closer to the Plains, a few showers and even thunderstorms are possible in southwest Kansas.  This activity will probably develop in the very late afternoon, or more likely, in the evening hours.  Some strong storms can't be ruled out either.

As the system moves into Kansas on Saturday, showers and a few storms are possible again, especially for central and eastern Kansas.  On the cold side of the system, rain will mix with and then change to some light snow.  Light accumulation of snow can't be ruled out for northern Kansas Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

The second half of the weekend will be windy and much colder.  Temperatures will slowly rebound during the work week.
