(DODGE CITY, Kan.)—
A Ford County candidate says losing the primary isn't stopping his campaign.
Mike Burkhart lost by four votes to current commissioner Chris Boys. But Burkhart will continue to run as a write-in candidate.
The two will also face Democratic challenger, Rebecca Escalante.
Burkhart said he chose to continue because of the encouragement of his supporters, many of whom he said were not able to vote during the primary election.
Some voters in the district received an incorrect ballot which left off this race. Election officials blame a programming error for the ballot mistake.
