Gas prices in the Wichita area have fallen to their lowest level in three months.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded at most Wichita stations is $3.29 a gallon. Some stations are selling it for $3.27.

The last time prices were this low was mid-February.

Most analysts say summer prices peaked in April and will continue to fall unless there are distruptions in supply.

One disruption may be hurricanes. Hurricane season officially starts Friday. Forecasters said there is a 70% chance of nine to 15 named storms with top winds of at least 39 mph.

Tensions with Iran and unplanned refinery shutdowns could also drive prices back up.
