(WICHITA, Kan.)—
Wichita police will be watching for drivers breaking the law this week.
A grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation is paying for special traffic enforcement through Sunday. The main focus will be on catching drunk drivers.
Twenty-six people died on Wichita roads last year, 13 in collisions involving impaired drivers.
So far, this year there have been 21 deaths. Police say the city's on pace to match last year's numbers.
