Dozens of you called our disaster relief hot-line to help those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.  The American Red Cross took the donations on the phone Thursday afternoon.  After three hours, the Red Cross raised $8,750.

The Red Cross says more than 250 shelters across 16 states opened up to help those affected by Sandy.  Those shelters provided 11,000 overnight stays on the night Sandy made landfall.

More than 2,300 Red Cross workers have arrived to serve more than 100,800 meals, and to offer their help and compassion.

You can make a financial donation by visiting www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions may also be sent to your local Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
