Wichita police say a large group of about 100 students flooded the IHOP on S. Ridge Road early Tuesday after the annual senior camp out.
22 of the teens skipped out without paying the bill, a WPD theft report shows.
"It makes us all look bad," said North High student Austin Kitchen.
"We all suffer when the very few of us do something boneheaded," said North principal Sherman Padgett.
He met Thursday with the entire senior class and expressed his disappointment. Padgett said arrangements are being made for the seniors to pay the $213 bill, plus a 20% tip for the wait staff.
Padgett said other disciplinary action will be considered on a case by case basis. Some students could lose privileges for their senior year, including participation in sports.
IHOP owner Ali Issa tells Eyewitness News he's embarrassed about the situation and apologizes to North High students and faculty for the negative publicity.
"That was not our intention," Issa said
He said about a dozen parents have already called him to apologize and some have offered to make arrangements to pay their child's share of the bill.
"I did stupid things when I was young," Issa said. He wants to reassure everyone, including the students they are welcome back at his restaurant.
