Cards and packages sent to military addresses in Afghanistan should have been mailed by December 3, but the deadline for mail for all other military addresses is December 10.

For international destinations, mail-by dates vary from December 3 to December 13. Global Express Guaranteed service is available through December 19 for most countries (December 20 for Canada & Mexico).

If you’re mailing cards and packages for US addresses, you’ll want to have things mailed out by December 14 for Parcel Post, December 20 for First Class Mail, December 21 for Priority Mail and December 22 for Express Mail.

Monday, December 17, is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the year with December 19 & 20 the busiest delivery days.

The Postal Service expects to handle 365 million packages this holiday season, that’s up 20% over last year.
