Update: The Courtyard Marriott in Old Town plans to reopen Friday afternoon.

Workers had to replace wet carpet and finish repairs after a water main break closed the hotel on Wednesday.

The hotel near Second and Washington was evacuated after the break knocked out power, smashed a window, and flooded the hotel's basement. More than 100 people were moved to other hotels in the area.

The water main break sent rocks through a window where a guest was sleeping.

"The guest that was in room 103 actually got up and came to the front desk and was really cordial about it.  But he thought it was a hailstorm and when the pipe broke, it was throwing rocks into his room," said the hotel's hospitality representative Lea Firestone.

At this time we don't know how much clean up and repair will cost.

However, the city will pay for the repair of the pipe.  The hotel can then file a claim with the city to have the damage paid for.
