The officer tried to stop the other car, which pulled into a private driveway. The 40-year-old driver told the officer he saw someone else run a red light and he was trying to pull that driver over.
The driver was taken in for questioning and arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer and traffic violations.
Officers checked his car, a maroon 2000 model Grand Marquis, and found various police-style equipment - a gun belt, baton and some handcuffs. They also found red and blue lights and a siren and a BB gun.

Police think he may have been involved in two other incidents in Wichita, but they don't think this case is related to the police impersonator agencies across Kansas have been looking for in recent weeks. Authorities are still looking for Robert Helms. He's accused of trying to cash bad checks while flashing a police badge in at least 21 Kansas communities.
