(DODGE CITY, Kan.)—
A woman and child died in a house fire in Dodge City Thursday. The Dodge City Deputy Fire Chief says the fire started Thursday morning in the 1700 block of 2nd Avenue.
He says it started inside the living room. Four people were able to get out of the house, but a woman and child remained trapped inside. The survivors and victims are all family.
The flames destroyed the home. The cause of how the fire started remains under investigation.
