(WICHITA, Kan.)—
A judge sentences a former Wichita Police officer to life in prison. Jason McGill was convicted of sexually abusing two small children.
Thursday a judge setenced McGill to life in prision with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
McGill's attorney opted for a bench trial, and plans to appeal his conviction. He says the court made a mistake when it allowed statements regarding McGill's confession during a preliminary hearing.
McGill also pleaded guilty last year to sexual battery while on duty. Prosecutors said he inappropriately touched women during traffic stops.
