Dozens of people packed the place affectionately known as "the Hill" for an opportunity to play in the snow.
"As soon as my kids got home from school the first thing they did was school uniforms off and they started going crazy putting on snow pants and boots and they're running down here, " says Greg Knoff.
It has been more than two years since the area has had superb sledding conditions.
"I thought we weren't gonna get a big snow storm of the year but I was really excited when it started snowing, more excited than my boys," says Suzy Blaha.
And there were many things to keep them entertained.
"People getting run over is kind of funny. The best part about sledding is going down and then jumping on people while they're on their way going down," says a group of students from Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.
They even talked Eyewitness News reporter Sia Nyorkor into taking a ride. It was her first time on a sled in more than 20 years.
The lines were also drawn in the snow as a fight broke out on "The Hill:" Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School against East High School.
Ernest Oliphant tried to show us how to make a good snowball but his opponents just wouldn't let up.
Most kids are now hoping for more snow on Thursday so they can spend more time with their sleds.
