More people than ever are expected to request help this holiday season.  Inter-Faith Ministries announced the start of its annual Operation Holiday.  Operation Holiday gives out food, clothing and presents during the Christmas season.

Last year, it served 5,010 households which was an 11% increase from the year before.  This year, organizers expect to serve 5,500 households.  More people means a need for more items. Below is a list of what Operation Holiday says it will need this year.

  • 100,000 food items
  • 10,000 new or clean gently used coats for adults and kids
  • 10,000 new or like-new scarves, mittens, hats
  • 5,000 new or professionally cleaned blankets
  • $350,000 to provide grocery store cards for fresh food
Operation Holiday will begin taking applications Monday November 12th through Wednesday November 21st.  It collaborates with Salvation Army and Catholic Charities to prevent the duplication of services.
