A Wichita man is out of the hospital after accidentally shooting himself during a gun safety class.
According to our news partners at KFDI radio, the 59-year-old man shot himself in the leg at The Bullet Stop on west Pawnee.
"The man was practicing an off-handed draw with his firearm when he had his finger on the trigger," said Sgt. Mark Jackson Saturday afternoon. "It discharged and struck him one time in his own leg."
Jackson said the man was practicing with a 9mm pistol. "He was practicing drawing from his holster with his weak or off hand," said Jackson. "Apparently sometime during that draw he got his finger on the trigger and the gun discharged."
No one else was injured.
