(WICHITA, Kan.)—
Wichita police took five children into protective custody from a south Wichita home Wednesday afternoon.Police say staff at Colvin Elementary noticed severe bruising on an 8-year-old student and called police.
Investigators say the boy had been beaten with a belt by a relative.
Because of safety concerns, officers also removed 6, 4, 3 and 2-year-old children from the home. The other children are all females.
Police know who the suspect is. They say he is a relative, but doesn’t live in the home.
