It was hundreds of people strong and every one of them was fired up.
"We're mad! Madder than hell!" said Benita Windsor, a Cessna union member.
With a contract vote only a week away for workers at her company, and one on the way for machinists at Hawker Beechcraft, Friday's union rally was to get the attention of the companies and all of Wichita.
The goal was to spred the message that jobs are worth fighting for. "We're not going to have anything left in this town. If aircraft goes away, everything else goes away," adds, Windsor.
As the group took that message to the streets, it caught the attention of even those not involved in aviation.
"I think it makes people aware of the situation that jobs are leaving Kansas," said Ron Schwartz.
Troy Harris adds, "I'm sure that it's good for the other people who are in the union who may not be here, building up the solidarity, but I don't know that it significantly impacts the union's position when it goes to negotiate their contracts."
Something that may only be seen after the final contract offers have been made.
"We're not fighting for more, we're fighting to keep what we have."
