A light bulb seems like a small and simple thing, but everytime it goes on, it's costing you money. The Energy and Sustainability Fair wants to change that. The fair offered 50 booths with various things that people can do to lower their electric bill in a green and environmentally friendly way.
"I do know that if you change out all of your lights, you will definitely see a difference in your electricity bill," said fair organizer Kay Johnson.
This is the third year Johnson put on the two day event.
Some of the booths offered things that some people might be familiar with like solar power. Spokespeople for the solar companies at the fair said that their technology can lower people's energy bills by as much as 70 percent.
There was also less well known technology like rain barrels at the fair. Peter Daniels of Wichita Rain Barrels says this technology collects rain water from a home's gutter system. He says that the water collected can be best used for people's gardens, so they won't have to use city water.
The fair is held once a year for two days.
