Police say a driver swerving to miss a pedestrian crashed into an oncoming car on N. Oliver Tuesday evening. It happened just after 7:00.
Eyewitnesses say a car was headed south when someone stepped into the street. The 19-year-old man driving swerved to mis the pedestrian and struck a car driven by a 23-year-old woman head-on.
The 19-year-old was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police say he was still unconscious as of last night. A 3-year-old boy was also hurt, but not seriously. Police say the boy was not properly restrained in the car.
The driver of the other car was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The pedestrian who stepped into the street was not at the scene when emergency crews arrived and the eyewitness was too far away to get a good description.
Anyone else who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police at (316) 267-4131.
