Filling up, has people fed up. With gas prices creeping towards $4.00 a gallon, a Wichita church wants to help.

"Every week we receive numerous calls for help. Whether it's through groceries, whether it's assisting with rent or utilities, so gas was something that we thought could be relevant and could touch and impact everybody," explains DeAndre Morris, Senior Pastor at Kingdom Harvest Church.

His church is teaming up with a Wichita radio station to give away free gas Saturday. It will kick off at noon at the Presto at 13th and Oliver. $5,000 worth of gas will be given away, $20 at a time. The church hopes to help 250 people.

"I'm expecting all kinds of chaos. It's going to be chaos, but it's going to be good chaos and hopefully we'll meet the need for as many people as we can."

Pastor Morris says by holding Saturday's event, he hopes to spread both a religious message as well as a community message.

"Just to show the community that there are churches out there that are not about passing offer baskets all the time, but offering something to the community."
