A group in Dodge City wants to help women who want to continue their education.
The Dodge City Soroptimist Club wants applications for the Women's Opportunity Award. The club helpes women who are the primary source of financial support to their families.
The award will provide resources in education and employment skills. Club members say past recipients of the award have overcome major obstacles, like poverty, domestic violence and drug and alcohol abuse.
"Hopefully they can go ahead and finish their schooling and be able to advance in their employment and make a better life for their family," said chairperson Teresa Koehn.
Women interested in applying can apply through Dec. 1 by visiting the club's website.
