A Scott City teen dies after crashing his pick-up Monday night in Scott County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Timothy Dirks was driving on County Road 270 around 9:30 Monday night when he drove his pick-up into a ditch near Pence Road. The KHP says Dirks went back on the road in a sideways slide, and his pick-up rolled.
Dirks was thrown from the pick-up. He was taken to Scott County Hospital, then transferred to Hays Medical Center where he died. Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt.
