A Sedgwick County Jail Detention Deputy faces two counts of unlawful sexual relations with a male inmate according to the daily booking sheet.
Investigators arrested him at the Sedgwick County Courthouse on Friday.
We are not naming that deputy at this time., but he has been a sheriff's department deputy for 19 years.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened in the jail. Last summer, then-detention deputy David Kendall was charged with 12 counts including sexual battery and criminal sodomy with six different inmates.
This was when Bob Hinshaw was still sheriff.
Current sheriff Jeff Easter made internal affairs an important staple of his campaign.
"Under my management, that is some policy changes I would make immediately, the first phone call is to the DA's office," Easter said in June prior to his election. "The second phone call is to an outside agency to assist with any criminal investigation, it happens when officers are involved in officer shootings, so it should happen when officers are involved in criminal activity."
