There's jewelery, money and even trading cards to claim at the Treasurer's Office in Topeka.

Deonde Crawford had some money waiting for him, a $1,000 check. His friend saw the Treasure Hunt on Eyewitness News and told Crawford to check online.

"I was like thank you, Jesus," Crawford said. " Like I said, it was a blessing in disguise. Things have been rough here lately. The Lord works in mysterious ways."

Crawford is a part-time cook at Fat Tony's and a stand up comedian. He says he really needs the money, "It couldn't have come at a better time."

Crawford says he will use the money to pay some bills and also give his nieces and nephews a good Christmas.

"They are all at the age where they appreciate anything from their uncle, so that's my plan," Crawford said.

Crawford thinks the money is from an old employer. While it may seem like a large amount of money to forget, Crawford says that it could happen to anyone.
