UPDATE: Monday morning update: Wichita police have released the names of three people found dead in a N. Wichita home this weekend.
Officers were called to check the welfare of the people who live N. Ash on Saturday. Once inside, they found 77-year-old Daryle Ellis and his wife, 78-year-old Bertha Ellis, along with Bertha's 39-year-old grandson, Adrian Urbano. All three were dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say all three lived in the home. They believe Urbano shot and killed Daryle and Bertha before shooting himself.
Police tell us a man living downstairs heard a disturbance on Thursday and hadn't heard from the upstairs neighbors by Saturday. That neighbor went upstairs and found the bodies. He called 911.
Police don't think anyone else is involved.
Original Story, December 30
Wichita police are investigating a triple shooting.
Police were called to a home on North Ash home Saturday afternoon after a 47-year-old man reported seeing three people dead.
When police arrived they found two men and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.
A gun was found near the bodies but officers are not sure if it's the same weapon used in the killings.
Although police have not released the names of the victims, neighbors say they are familiar with the people who live in that house--- an elderly couple and their grandson.
Jeff Hale, who lives across the street says he was friends with the grandson. Hale says he hasn't seen him around the last couple of days.
"I noticed that he hasn't been riding his motorcycle," says Hale.
Does that strike you as suspicious?" asks Eyewitness News Reporter Sia Nyorkor.
"Yeah because I've always known him to ride it and he's been riding a bicycle," he replied.
Charis Williams says she noticed a change too.
"I know the old man feeds these cats and he walks around picking up cans and stuff and I haven't seen him do that in a couple of days.
Police do not have any suspects at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
