(WATERLOO, Il)—
Golfers are used to hazards, but this is something out of the ordinary.
A huge sinkhole opened up on the 14th fairway of a southern Illinois golf course.
Golfer Mark Mihal had to be rescued from it by a rope.
The sinkhole swallowed him and resulted in a dislocated shoulder.
A geologist says the hole was caused by thousands of years of erosion washing away the limestone underground.
Mihal just happened to be playing through at just the wrong time.
And I thought Terradyne had some tough holes!
