A helicopter air lifted 16 air conditioning and ventilation units onto the roof the Kansas Star Casino Wednesday.
Each vent weighs approximately 12 tons. John Gratz, the Director of Construction for the Kansas Star casino, said it would have taken a huge crane to do what the helicopter can easily do.
“It’s a more economical procedure to use a helicopter than a crane because a crane would take about three days to do this piece of work and a helicopter will take about three hours,” said Gratz.
The vent units help bring fresh air into the casino and remove exhaust. They are part of the next phase of the new casino Gratz says he expects to be complete by the end of this year.
