A Salina mother accused of killing her 14-month-old son was formally charged in court Thursday.  Brittney Betzold was charged with felony murder murder, aggravated endangerment of a child, child abuse and obstruction of justice.

On October 4, her son Clayden Urbanek was found lifeless and cold to the touch.  He later died at the hospital.  During the hearing, the judge stated September 26th to October 4th was a period where the child was "cruelly tortured".  Police had previously stated the abuse had been going on for some time because Clayden had various stages of bruising on his body.

Betzold's 27-year-old boyfriend  Antonio Brown was also charged with murder earlier this month.  During Thursday's hearing, Betzold sobbed as the judge read her charges.  She's being held on a $500,000 bond.  She's expected to be back in court next week.
